What Are Multi-Use Fire Extinguishers?
Multi-use fire extinguishers, sometimes called “one for all extinguishers”, represent the latest advancement in fire safety technology. Water Mist Fire Extinguishers
Water mist fire extinguishers use de-ionised water dispersed as microscopic droplets to suppress fires. How It Works

Electrical Fire Risk – BS 5306 Guidance
Fires involving electrical equipment are a common hazard.
BS 5306-8 identifies key risks:
- Conductive extinguishing media on live electrical equipment may cause electric shock
- Inadequate extinguisher selection increases likelihood of ineffective fire response
- Electrical equipment should be isolated before extinguisher use where practicable
BS 5306-8 recommends only electrically non-conductive media (CO₂, powder, clean agent, or certified water mist/multi-use extinguishers) for live electrical equipment.
Modern water mist and multi-use extinguishers are tested and certified for electrical safety up to 1,000V.
